I’m a mother of two boys, an engineer by training with an ecology background, a sustainability professional, and a wife. Our family also includes 2 cats, 6 chickens and some fish. I’m guessing that the fish probably have the biggest eco footprint of the non-humans. My husband and I met through the outing club at our college, and we enjoy being active and outside as a family.
We’re a fairly normal family, and I’m making this site and blog to help our family and to help other families find ways to become more sustainable while living busy lives. I know that you don’t have the time to research the most sustainable products and weigh the different tradeoffs, so let me do it for you.
And I’ll be learning right alongside you as I work to help my family identify what we’re doing well and where we can improve in a variety of areas including waste, water, energy, transportation, community involvement, food and more. We are no where near perfect, and before we start, I’m expecting water and food to be two areas where we have the most room to improve.
I plan to post on the following schedule:
- Main post on Mondays
- Food related post on Tuesday
- FAQ related to the main post on Wednesday
- Outdoor activity/kids activity on Thursday (prep for weekend)
- 1 simple action on Friday
Looking forward to sharing the journey with you!
